Located in Double Bay, Margaret by ACME and Caon Design Office is Neil Perry’s latest Sydney restaurant, acclaimed Restaurant of the Year, 2023. Imbued with soft detailing, a neutral colour and texture palette, and carpets by FYBER, Margaret is an example of luxurious dining.
One of the many good things to open after the pandemic was Margaret, Neil Perry’s latest Sydney-based restaurant. Neil Perry worked with ACME, Caon Design Office and carpets by Fyber to imbue the Double Bay restaurant with a thoughtful selection of interior materials. Additionally, as the new venue is the first to be completely owned by the Perry family, his late mother is honoured through name and character.
Tasked with creating a space for both guests and staff, ACME and Caon Design Office collaborated to craft a restaurant that the staff can work in efficiently to give the customers a seamless dining experience. Supporting this, the paths within the Sydney restaurant are finished with tiles, whilst the main seating area is complemented with Custom Vanity 1200 rugs from Fyber that possess noise reduction properties. Furthermore, Margaret holds a private dining room at the rear, allowing guests to enjoy a private function.
During the design process, Neil Perry, ACME and Caon Design Office thoroughly considered the materials employed and placed a focus on two leading characteristics: durability and comfort. As such, the designers engaged Fyber to help with the carpet’s colour palette so that it suited the organic nature of Margaret. The custom Vanity 1200 carpet is used in the main dining space and under the front desk, adding a calming yet luxurious touch to the interior design.
Through a strong and trusted working relationship, Fyber, ACME and Caon Design Office have brought together the textures and colours of Margaret in an expression of Neil Perry’s spanning restaurant career. Becoming a comfortable, luxurious and enriching space in which customers can dine and experience the finest of hospitality services, Margaret Inspires memorable moments among the thoughtful details.
