Nestled in the heart of Sydney, this boutique hotel redefines luxury, showcasing how tailored aesthetics and thoughtful design can transform a space into an unforgettable experience.
The Collectionist Hotel in Sydney stands out as a premier boutique destination, renowned for its unique approach: no two rooms are identical. To achieve this distinctiveness, a carpet range with a vast color palette was essential. Fyber was selected to deliver a carpet collection that not only maintains continuity throughout the hotel but also accentuates the unique character of each room. The chosen solution was ENVY.
Daniel Symonds, the visionary behind The Collectionist Hotel, was inspired by a distinctive car rental experience in the U.S., where clients chose vehicles based on style, not just functionality. This concept sparked the idea of a bold hotel design offering a singular boutique experience, with each room providing a memorable, one-of-a-kind stay.
Creating the hotel's design was a formidable task. It involved four design studios and 13 artists to craft the 39 individual rooms. The selection of varied canvases, décor, art, and color schemes demanded precise attention to detail. Consequently, finding a carpet range that could complement these elements was critical. Our product, ENVY, met this challenge with its resilience and innovative design, ideal for the demands of a commercial setting.
ENVY, a leading product from Fyber, features the exclusive SilkNV™ technology. This engineered fiber boasts a luminous pearlescent look and exceptional stain resistance, attributes highly valued in the busy hotel industry. Its luxurious appearance, silk-like softness, and extensive color range made Envy the ideal choice for The Collectionist. Envy's secret lies in its ultra-high density, 5/64 gauge carpet weaving, offering up to two and a half times better texture retention than the industry standard, ensuring the design's longevity.
Furthermore, Fyber provided a comprehensive solution as a single-source supplier for all the hotel's carpeting needs. This approach simplified the logistics of individualizing each room's carpet design. We are immensely proud of the final result and delighted to have contributed to realizing Daniel's vision.
